BAHAWALPUR: Wildlife Department Bahawalpur has got momentum as the department collected over Rs 9.4 million revenue in connection with fee and by imposing fines against poachers.
Talking to journalists here, Deputy Director Wildlife, Mohammad Anwar Mian said that following the directives received from Punjab government, Wildlife Department Bahawalpur conducted raids against poachers in Cholistan and imposed fines against them. “Wildlife Department has imposed ban on hunting deer, hobara bustard and other precious and endangers species of wildlife in Cholistan and other areas of the region”.
“Wildlife Department Bahawalpur chapter has collected over Rs 9.4 million by collecting fee and fines imposed against poachers,” he said. He said that stern action was being taken against the elements found involved in poaching. He said that Wildlife Department has established 24 check-posts in Cholistan desert.
