World post day observed

RAWALPINDI: RAWALPINDI: A function was held here on Monday at the General Post Office to observe the 143th World Post Day.

Highlighting the importance of the World Post Day, the postmaster general Rana Mohammad

Ikhlaq, said Pakistan Post traditionally celebrated the World Post Day with a resolve to provide postal services, financial services, customized e-services, logistics services to the customers meeting the demands of the modern age.Rana said,Pakistan Post was emphasizing in the use of new

communication and information technologies to move beyond what is traditionally regarded as a core postal business, keeping pace with the changing communications market.

“We are providing cheapest postal services in present inflationary day’,he added.

The Union Postal Union was established in Bern, Switzerland, on Oct 9, 1878 and Pakistan became a member of the UPU in Nov 1947.”
