DC Kohistan distributes compensation checques amongst Dasu Hydropower project affectees

KOHISTAN:To review the situation of the Dasu Hydropower Project (DHP) a meeting of district administration Kohistan, World Bank representative, General Manager DHP and others were held and discussed various issues.

DG Social Safeguard, MNA from Kohistan Malik Afreen, former MPA Kohistan Abdul Sattar Khan discussed were also present in the meeting and discussed the present situation of DHP, all participants have shown satisfaction with the performance of district administration, police department and law enforcement agencies. DC Kohistan also distributed the compensation cheques amongst the DHP affectees.

Two days ago Commissioner Hazara Division Riaz Khan Mahsood during his visit to DHP and meeting with local elders, ulema and civil society members said that we would let anybody create a hurdle in the construction of the Dasu Hydle Power Project.

The commissioner said that the government has paid 6.36 billion rupees to Dasu power project affectees after acquiring 1935-acre land for the project and today we have also distributed 30 million rupees cheques amongst the owners of the land.

At the occasion, local elders assured the commissioner Hazara division that they are standing with the district administration Kohistan, Wapda and law enforcement agencies shoulder to shoulder for the completion of the Dasu Hydle Power Project.
