FAISALABAD: Pakistani investors should avail emerging business opportunities in Bosnia Herzegovina, said Ambassador in Pakistan Mr Sakib Foric Bosnian.
Addressing the business community of the Faisalabad in Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) on Friday, he appreciated the services of Pakistani who participated in the UN peace
mission in Bosnia.
He also acknowledged close affinity between the people of Pakistan and Bosnia and said: ” We must translate these relations into economic terms.”
He said that Bosnia was a very small country compared to Pakistan with a population of only 3 million. “It is a member of NATO and has huge potential for the development of tourism”, he said and added countries have built 20 hotels in Sarajevo to accommodate foreign visitors and tourists.
He said that Bosnia had introduced a very liberal economic regime under which foreign investors
could start their business with or without a local partner. He said that Pakistan could establish their textile units for re-export to the adjoining countries.
He also appreciated the quality of Pakistani products and said that leather goods, mango, orange and other agriculture products had great demand in Bosnia.
He said that foreign visitors having a visa from the UK, EU and Schengen countries had no need to get a visa to visit this country. He said that Bosnia had its own central bank which ensured the safety of foreign investment in Bosnia.
Earlier, Senior Vice President FCCI Chaudhry Talat Mahmood welcomed the foreign dignitaries and presented FCCI shield to Bosnian Ambassador Sakib Foric.
