Minister pays surprise visit to housing scheme, suspends absent staff

PESHAWAR:KP Minister for Housing, Dr. Amjad Ali Tuesday issued directives for the suspension of the watchman and other employees of Mulazai Housing Scheme, Warsak Road over absence from duty.

In his directives issued here, the provincial minister has further warned Housing Department particularly, the staffers of Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) of stern legal proceedings against those showing negligence in performing their responsibilities.

The provincial minister received a tip that the staff and watchman of the Site Office Mulazai Housing Scheme mostly remain absent from their duties that prompted him to issue directives for initiating stern action against concerned officials and extension of full facilitation to the people.

During the surprise visit, the minister expressed anguish over the closure of the main entrance and absence of watchman and other responsible officials and issued directives for their immediate suspension.

Talking about the importance of the concerned housing project, he said that scheme initiated on 191 kanal land at the cost of Rs 258.865 million wherein 371 consumers had also started work on their plots.

He said that beside completion of construction work on mosque and three parks, work on provision of gas, electricity, water supply and drainage had also been completed.

For the facilitation of consumers, the department besides, opening a site office has also deployed a watchman and other staffers.
