RAWALPINDI:Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) conducted 145 anti-encroachment operations during last six months and confiscated over 170 truckload goods from different markets.
The grand anti-encroachment operation on the special instruction of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) was launched and the teams conducted 145 operations in different areas.
According to RCB spokesman, the grand clean-up operation against encroachments continued during 2020 in RCB areas and the encroachments were removed from different markets including Saddar Bazaar, Tench Bhatta, Peoples Colony, Dhoke Syedan, Bakara Mandi, Chungi Number 22, Chor, Masrial and several other areas while the teams also issued thousands of notices to the rules violators.
Sheds illegally constructed in various commercial areas were also demolished, he informed.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Cantonment Executive Officer. Anti-encroachment teams were also directed to focus different commercial areas particularly Gawalmandi, Chungi No. 22, Tench Bhatta, Bakra Mandi, Haider Road, Mall Road, Saadi Road, Kashmir Road, Police Station Road, Railway Station Road, Adam Gee Road, Bank Road and other markets and not to spare the rules violators.
He said, RCB markets were regularly being visited and the teams concerned were conducting raids at main markets.
The vendors who were found selling their products while displaying on footpaths and different roads were imposed fines with warnings, he added.
Encroachments both temporary and permanent were removed under grand anti-encroachment operation.
He said, the operation would continue and strict action in accordance with the law would be taken against the rules violators and no relaxation would be given to anyone.
