Govt to refurbish arts councils


Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to establish an Artificial Intelligence Central Media Monitoring Unit in the Digital Media Wing.



In the budget of the next financial year, it has been proposed to allocate Rs250 million for the establishment of the unit, while Rs100 million has been proposed for the Technology Advancement Program. In addition, it has been proposed to allocate Rs200 million for solarisation of the Punjab Council of Arts Council and other offices, Rs700 million for the upgradation of Alhamra Arts Council Mall Road and Cultural Complex, and Rs50 million for the construction and repair of the Literary Tea House, Book Warehouse.



The projects of Bahawalpur Arts Council Bahawalpur, Bagh-e-Jinnah Air Theater, Multan, DG Khan have been included, as well as the construction and repair projects of the Arts Council of Murree.



The decision to establish the Bhakkar Arts Council has been proposed and it was allocated more than Rs57.5 million. In addition, it has been decided to start projects in Cholistan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur. The Rawalpindi Information Complex has been proposed at Rs50 million, Rs93.8 million for the construction and renovation of the Okara Arts Council and Rs55 million for the Punjab Talent Hunt Program. In addition, it has been proposed to allocate Rs1.5 billion for the construction of the new building of the DGPR Complex.
