Hot and humid weather likely in most parts pf country: PMD

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and humid weather in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours. However, rain-wind thundershower is likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. While, rain-wind thundershower is expected in upper Punjab, lower Balochistan and southeast Sindh at isolated places during evening/night. Light to moderate monsoon currents from Arabian Sea were penetrating upper/central parts of the country. A shallow trough of westerly wave was present over northwestern parts of the country. During the last 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, rain/thundershower occurred at isolated places in lower Sindh, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Balochistan. The rainfall recorded was Sindh: Karachi (Surjani Town 58mm, City 32, Airport 31, Orangi Town 30, University Road 20, P.A.F Faisal 16, Saadi Town 15, Gulshan-E-Hadeed 12, North Karachi 09, Gulshan-E-Maymar, Kemari 07, Kora ngi 04, Malir 03, P.A.F Masroor, Ibrahim Hyderi 02), Mithi 19, Tando Jam 09, Badin, Chhor, Thatta 01, Punjab: Sialkot City 20, Gujrat 12, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Parachinar 19, Chitral 01, Balochistan: Zhob 07mm. The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Turbat 46C, Dalbandin, Jacobabad 45, Mohenjo Daro , Nokkundi, Sibbi, Khairpur 44, Rohri, Larkana, Dadu 43C.
