Karachi:In order to alleviate load of heavy traffic inside the city area, Karachi Administration, on Wednesday, decided to shift all the inter-city bus stands to Super Highway Bus Terminal within two weeks.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi. The Provincial Secretary Transport Asad Zamin, DIG Traffic Karachi Ahmed Nawaz, Additional Commissioner Karachi-I Ghulam Mehdi, secretaries of Provincial and Regional Transport Authorities attended the meeting while Deputy commissioners participated via video link.

In the first phase, according to a statement issued here, unauthorized intercity bus stands established at Karachi Cantt station, MA Jinnah Road, Taj Complex and Al-Karam Square will be removed and a shuttle service will be provided to passengers from these locations to the Karachi Bus Terminal on Super Highway.

It has been decided that intercity buses will only be allowed to pick up passengers from the Super Highway Bus Terminal while police will be deploy
ed at the mentioned locations and no bus will be allowed to stand there.

Action will be taken against the violation and Deputy Commissioners, District Police and Traffic Police will take joint action against buses violating the ban, it added.
