ISLAMABAD: Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid on Thursday said that 150 more branches of National Savings will be automated under three year project starting from December 2017.
He was responding to a Calling Attention Notice in the Senate about the closure of Phase-II of automation project of National Savings by the end of September, 2017 due to which three hundred employees engaged in this project, having expertise in the relevant field, might lose their jobs whose services can be utilized in Phase-III of the said project proposed to be initiated in near future.
The minister said that a total of 350 employees were engaged in Phase-11 of automation project of National Savings in 2013 following which 140 branches have been automated. He said those employees who had worked in Phae-11 are being asked to apply in Phase-III of automation project and they would be given preference in it.
The minister informed the House that a total of 89 branches were also automated in first phase from 2009-12 while all branches would be automated under this project.
Earlier, the Chair admitted an adjournment motion for discussion which was sponsored by MQM Senator Col. ® Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi. It was regarding lack of beds for patients and other medical equipment in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH), Islamabad.
