ISLAMABAD: PML-N stalwart Hanif Abbasi on Thursday said a total of 17.5 million has been generated from the fundraising cricket match to be held between Shahid Afridi-XI and Hamza Shahbaz-XI on July 18 at Pindi Cricket Stadium kept for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency (NWA).
Addressing a press conference at the venue on Thursday, Hanif Abbasi said a fundraising cricket match for IDPs would be held between Shahid Afridi-XI and Hamza Shahbaz-XI.
At the occasion Abbasi also urged the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Imran Khan to help the IDP’s. “Our objective of the friendly match is to generate funds for the IDP’s who are going through a very tough time in the Holy month of Ramazan,” he said adding helping IDPs is our national and moral duty.
Abbasi said the ticket-costs for the match include VVIP: Rs 10,000;
VIP: 2,500 and the normal ticket costs up to Rs 500. “All the tickets have been sold and we will be seeing a jam packed stadium on Friday,” he said.
Abbasi said cricket bats having cricketer’s signature have been also kept on auction starting from Rs 5,00,000.
Abbasi said no one will be allowed to enter the stadium without tickets. “Full scurity has been organized for the match,” he said.
