Accused’s remand extended in Dr.Imran Farooq murder case

ISLAMABAD: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Thursday extended judicial remand of three accused allegedly involved in Dr.Imran Farooq murder case.

ATC Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi heard the case regarding murder of MQM’s leader Dr.Imran Farooq in London.

During hearing, three accused including Moazzam Ali, Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim were produced before the court.

The counsel for the accused informed the judge that Islamabad High Court (IHC) had reserved its judgment regarding fate of Anti Terrorism Act (ATA) section in first information report (FIR) of the incident.

They prayed the court that his clients shouldn’t be indicted in the murder case until decision of IHC.

Accepting the request, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till October 5, and also extended judicial remand of the accused.

It may be mentioned here that the accused had challenged the inclusion of ATA sections in murder FIR against them in IHC.

The IHC had reserved its judgment in this case.
