CDA planted 2,44,944 saplings this year

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Coorporation Islamabad (MCI) have planted 2,44,944 saplings this year under Prime Minister Green Pakistan Programme in Islamabad Capital Territory during Spring, monsoon season of the current year.

The Ministry of Climate Change has given a task of planting 300,000 saplings to CDA and Metropolitan Coorporation Islamabad (MCI) to complete the task.

Both the government bodies have planted saplings at major planting sites including Margallah Hills National Park, Simly Catchment areas, Green Belt, Parks and Roads, an official of CDA told reporter.

Survival of plants remained above 60 percent in urban areas and below 40 percent in rural areas.
