ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Lt General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects would benefit the people of the region.
Opening of Gwadar Port would be a game changer for the people of Pakistan, he said while talking to a news channel.
He said some elements and countries wanted to get the gigantic project rolled back irrespective of the fact that it would change the fate of the people of region.
The PML-N senator said the Senate elections would be held according to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan. There should be no speculations about holding of the next general elections and the people would vote for the PML-N on the basis of performance, he added.
To a question he said some undemocratic elements had entered into political field for their vested interests. They had used derogatory language against the parliament and were involved in attacking state institutions, he added.
Lt General ® Abdul Qayyum said the PML-N was a popular party and its chief Nawaz Sharif was the most popular leader in the country.
