DeM lauds Iok HCBA’s bold approach at Indian SC

ISLAMABAD: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has lauded the Kashmir High Court Bar Association and its President, Mian Abdul Qayoom, for adopting a bold approach by challenging and questioning the Jammu and Kashmir’s so-called accession with India in the Indian Supreme Court.

According to reporter, the DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen in a statement issued in Srinagar said that despite being intimidated and threatened by the Indian government and its agencies, Mian Abdul Qayoom’s stance against the so-called accession was worth appreciation.

She said, India is using all tactics including NIA raids and other cheap tricks to muzzle the genuine voices from occupied Kashmir. Mian Abdul Qayoom too was harassed by the Indian agency recently but his stance and now the challenge to illegal Indian occupation in India’s apex court speaks volumes about his courage and his urge to support the truth, she added.

Nahida Nasreen urged the Indian people especially intellectuals and the educated class to thoroughly go through the contents of the affidavit filed by the HCBA and then put pressure on their government to end the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Nahida Nasreen expressed grave concern over the attacks on Kashmiri prisoners in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail. Two Kashmiri prisoners, Javiad Ahmed and Mohammad Shafi, were ruthlessly beaten inside the jail on Tuesday.

She said that all such repressive tactics of India could not suppress the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom and they would continue their struggle till complete freedom from Indian bondage.
