ISLAMABAD: Gujranwala and Islamabad outclassed their opponents to win their opening matches of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Super League (PBCSL), which commenced on Tuesday at Jinnah Cricket Stadium Gujranwala.
According to a statement issued here by Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), the inaugural match of the event took place between Peshawar and Gujranwala. Peshawar, who won the toss and elected to bat set a competitive total of 374 runs on the board for the loss of nine wickets in stipulated 38 overs. Mohsin Khan remained top scorer with 134 runs, while Sana Ullah
Made 77 runs.
Mohammad Waqas took two wickets while Israr, Kashan, Zubair and Mati Ullah got one wicket each for Gujranwala. In reply, Gujranwala reached the target in the last over for the loss of just two wickets. Mohammad Akram played and outstandingly innings of unbeaten unbeaten 183
runs. Israr Hassan chipped in with 61 runs while Mohammad Waqas scored unbeaten 54. Akram was declared man-of-the-match for his superb knock.
In the second match that was held at Government College Cricket Ground, Gujranwala, Islamabad won the toss and put Azad Kashmir into bat first.
Azad Kashmir made 242 runs for the loss of eight scalps in allotted 35 overs.
Nisar Ali was their top scorer with 55 runs, while Mohammad Jamil
made 54 runs. Amir Ashfaq, Zeshan Abbasi and Kamran Akhter picked up two
wickets each for Islamabad while Anees Javed finished with one wicket.
In reply, Islamabad reached the target in just 22 overs while losing only one wicket. Anees Javed played an exceptional innings of unbeaten 124 runs, while Amir Ashfaqscored unbeaten 84.
Anees was given man-of-match for his outstanding batting. Earlier, Commissioner Gujranwala Captain ® Mohammad Asif inaugurated the event.
