HEC warns illegal campuses/institutions to stop operations

ISLAMABAD: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warned the universities and other institutions operating illegally across the country to immediately stop their operations or become ready to face the consequences.

It has been noticed that a number of universities/institutions/campuses/affiliated colleges and foreign collaborative arrangements were operating illegally in Pakistan without acquiring permission from HEC.

“All such institutions who are operating without getting prior approval/No Objection Certificate from HEC, have opened illegal campuses or offering foreign collaborative degree programmes without HEC’ NOC or approval are cautioned to stop their operations”,

Director General (Accreditation and Attestation), HEC warned.

“If such institutions fail to comply, their operations shall be shut down with the assistance of law enforcement agencies and provincial governments as per rules”, the DG said.

Students and their parents were also warned that degrees from such non-recognized and fake institutions or illegal campuses will not be verified by HEC.
