Hurriyat leaders denounce Bhagwat’s remarks on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has said that Indian occupied Kashmir is the only place over globe, where people are traumatized and are forced to live in perpetual pain and distress.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in held Srinagar expressed his deep shock and grief over continued attempts of strengthening occupation by Indian authorities through its military means, reported.

He said people had been pursuing their right to self-determination for past 70 years and for their commitment were subjected to extreme brutalities.

Denouncing BJP and PDP-led coalition for their unceasing attempts to pamper political, cultural, economic and historical status of the territory, Syed Ali Gilani said that RSS chief Mohan Bhagat and all those affiliated with ruling parties both in occupied Kashmir and New Delhi through their unwise statements were pleading and favoring complete integration of the territory with India.

Gilani said all these steps and their attempts illustrate that India does not want to resolve Kashmir dispute through political means.

He said, “Our peaceful struggle for right to self-determination has now passed on to third generation. We are quite confident that our youth, intellectuals, lawyers, writers, journalists, trader fraternity and people from all walks will play assigned role for their democratic and political rights.”

Reacting to the Bhagwat’s statement, the Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said: “He should go through the history and he will come to know that Kashmir is a dispute acknowledged by the world’s highest forum UN.”

The JKLF Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik also denounced Bhagwat’s statement. “Jammu Kashmir was, is and will never be a part of India. Instead of thinking of conquering Jammu Kashmir, Mohan Bhagwat should think of his India which is getting closer to disintegration by RSS anti-minority policies,” he said.
