ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to decide a matter related to blocking of used mobile phones after listening to the Mobile Traders Association (MTA).
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the case filed by the MTA.
The petitioner’s counsel Munir Baig Mirza prayed the court to issue directives regarding introduction of ‘an importing policy’ about used mobile phones. He prayed the court to stop the authorities concerned from blocking mobiles until the announcement of new import policy.
He also requested the court to permit the import of mobile phones approved from GSMA.
