IHC directs CDA to remove illegal bus stands from green belts

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Capital Administration to get vacated green belt and encroached land from illegal bus stands established in the capital territory.

Justice Shoukat Aziz Siddiqui also directed the authorities to submit compliance report before the bench within a week, while hearing plea moved by Islamabad Transport Owners and Passengers Welfare Association challenging encroachment at Faizabbad bus stand.

During the course of proceedings, Sheikh Anser Aziz, Chairman CDA appeared before the bench and apprised the court that soon all encroachments in the capital territory would be get vacated.

Justice Shoukat Aziz expressed displeasure and questioned that why not encroachment in the capital could not controlled.

Meanwhile, CDA director enforcement alleged that police and capital administration did not cooperate with CDA which was the main reason behind all the issue.

Deputy Commissioner who was present in the court room assured full cooperation of the administration with CDA to get vacate the encroached land from encroachers.

Subsequently on the assurance of the Deputy Commissioner, the bench adjourned further hearing of the case till October 4.
