Islamabad Police conduct flag march

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police along with contingents of Pakistan Rangers on Wednesday conducted flag march with an objective to maintain peace and tranquility in the city during Muharram ul Haram.

On the special directions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Mohammad Khalid Khattak, SSP (Operations) Islamabad Sajid Kiani has prepared a comprehensive plan of flag march to counter any challenge and to maintain peace in the city.

In this regard a flag march was conducted under the supervision of SP (City) zone

Shakih Zubair Ahmad which was participated by all SDPOs and SHOs of City Area Zone, officials of Pakistan Rangers, Islamabad Traffic Police, Police Commandos, Rescue 15 police and police patrolling officials.

Flag march started from Pakistan Sports Complex and will be culminated at the same point after passing through Dhokri Chowk to Bhara Kahu Bazar and back Murree Road to 3rd Road to Darbar Bari Imam to T Cross To Radio Pakistan Chowk To NADRA HQ Chowk to Soharwardi Road to Aabpar Chowk to Melody to Imambargah G-6/2 to Ali Masjid G-7/2 and Back to Pakistan Sports Complex..

SSP (Operations) Islamabad Sajid Kiani has said that Islamabad police have ensured detailed securityarrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. He said that police would accomplish responsibility in an efficient manner to ensure protection to lives and property of citizens

SSP Islamabad further said that purpose of this flag march was to show preparations of police and other law enforcement agencies during the Muhram ul Haram to counter any challenge and maintain peace in the city. He also directed all the SDPOs and the SHOs to make effective security arrangements in this regard in their respective areas. He added that Islamabad Police would maintain a close liaison with peace committees and organizers of Muharram Majalis and processions.
