IST to celebrate World Space Week (WSW) 2017

ISLAMABAD: The Institute of Space Technology (IST) – one of the premier institutes in Pakistan – has planned more than 200 events at its campus in Islamabad during October 4-7, 2017 to celebrate World Space Week (WSW) 2017.

The theme for WSW 2017 is “Exploring New Worlds in Space”. The World Space Week 2017, begins on Wednesday, is a four day mega event includes number of competitions, workshops and activities for the students of colleges and schools, organizers said Tuesday.

The event will encapsulate the space themed categories including Space Knowledge, Space Innovation, Space Mathematica, Space Creative Writing, Space Visual Arts, Space Technology Applications, Space Fine Arts, Space Graphics, Space Business, Space Entertainment and Space Awareness Activities.

The Institute of Space Technology has an honor of arranging International and National events for creating awareness among general public related to Space Technology.

World Space Week 2017 mega event includes number of competitions, workshops and activities for the students of colleges and schools.

The IST has the heritage of celebrating World Space Week for last 12 years and is ranked first for organizing maximum number of events in Pakistan for year 2016 by International World Space Week Association.

IST is a federally chartered, Degree Awarding Institute offering Graduate and Baccalaureate programs in Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Science & Engineering, Space Science, Remote Sensing & GISc, Astronomy & Astrophysics and Applied Mathematics & Statistics. IST has been ranked amongst the top four engineering universities of Pakistan.
