ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesman Fawad Chaudhry Wednesday called for placing ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Exit Control List (ECL), accusing the government of double standards.
Addressing a press conference at Bani Gala, the PTI leader said Nawaz Sharif’s name should be put on Exit control list (ECL) as he could travel to London anytime.
He said that Maryam Nawaz’s tweet shows that Nawaz Sharif is planning to return to London.
The PTI spokesman reiterated his party’s demand for holding fresh elections in the wake of disqualification of Nawaz Sharif and opening of corruption references against Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
“This government has lost the moral authority to rule Pakistan anymore,” he opined, the PML-N should seek fresh mandate from the nation.
Chaudhry also defended his party’s move to elect a new opposition leader with the help of MQM-Pakistan.
“PTI is the largest opposition in Pakistan and it has the right to hold consultations with the government for the installation of a caretaker set-up before the next general elections,” added Chaudhry.
