ISLAMABAD: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed on Thursday said merit was always followed in appointment of Chairman and members of Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) and honest as well as eligible people were appointed on these posts.
Giving a statement after debate in Senate on FPSC report for the year 2015, he said retired judges and bureaucrats with high character and good reputation were appointed on key posts in FPSC. He said recommendations of the Senators would be reviewed and accommodated while making key decisions about appointment in FPSC and to improve its efficiency.
Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani said a special committee having eight members would be constituted after consultation with the Leader of the House and the Leader of the Opposition.
Four members each would be selected from treasury and opposition benched and this committee would make recommendations for further improvement in FPSC related affairs.
