Motorway police introduces new policing culture in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: On the recommendations of Departmental Promotion Committee of National Highways and Motorway Police 26 confirmed Inspectors/senior Patrol Officers (BS-16) have been promoted as Deputy Superintendent of Police/ Chief Patrol Officer (BS-17).

The rank wearing ceremony of promoted DSPs/CPOs was held at Motorway Police Lines Headquarter, Islamabad.  Lieutenant General Mohammad Afzal, Director General, Frontier Works Organization was the chief guest of the ceremony. The welcome address delivered by IG, NH&MP, Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam. The Ceremony attended by IG, NH&MP, Zonal Commanders and Sector Commanders of NH&MP, Retired Inspector General and other senior officers of Motorway Police and distinguished guest.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony Lieutenant General Mohammad Afzal has appreciated the efforts of National Highways and Motorway police and congratulates the newly promoted officers. He said Motorway Police was raised by the Government in 1997 for Policing on M-2 and today’s Ceremony is the acknowledgement of exemplary performance of this esteemed organization. It is my earnest desire that this force not only sustains its efficiency level but also furthers the standards manifold.

While appreciating the performance of Motorway Police, Lieutenant General Mohammad Afzal congratulated the newly promoted officers and advised them to work hard with dedication for the goodwill of the department. He said Motorway Police has Introduced a

new policing culture In Pakistan.

Furthermore, he announced one year free Education for the children of 34 NH&MP Shuhdas. Inspector General, National Highways and Motorway Police Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam has stressed upon the newly promoted officers of Motorway Police to behave with the commuters with great respect and courtesy. He said that rule of law be ensured in all respects and no discrimination is made because of any rank or respect.

He further added that these officers were promoted on the recommendations of Departmental Promotion Committee.

In this ceremony Lieutenant General Mohammad Afzal and IG, NH&MP Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam are pin the badges to promoted officers Ashfaq Ahmed, Mohammad Moazam Jalees, Imran Adeel, Amer Jamil , Hafiz Syed Ahmed Nauman Hassan, nadeem Gul, Mohammad Younas Khan, Irfan Faisal, Shukat Ali Changezi, Hussnain Abbas, Ms. Saira Mushtaq, Farasa Ali Bhinder, Ahsan Ali, Waqar Ali Malik, Mohammad Khan Toor, Ali Abid Razwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Sadruddin Khan Talpur, Hanif Arif, Nazakat Ali, Mohammad Shahbaz Alam, Imdad ullah Shahid, Ahsan Danish, Ali Hassan Khan and atta ur Rehman. In the end IG, NH&MP Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam presented a shield to the Lieutenant General Mohammad Afzal.
