MQM backs suggestion of solving TORs issue with consensus

ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members who are part of the parliamentary committee formed to deal with the Terms of References (TORs) catering the investigation of the Panama Leaks issue backed the suggestion of solving the matter with consensus.

Meeting of the Opposition members who are part of the parliamentary committee took place under the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan.

Committee member and Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ilyas Bilour stated that the party backed Opposition’s one-point agenda to wipe out corruption. He questioned that why is the advice to hit the streets against Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif being given?’

Bilour further stated that someone should share with his party the advantages democracy shall be having as a result of hitting the streets. He said that the matter needs to be resolved in the Parliament, not on the roads.

MQM also backed the suggestion to solve the issue with consensus.
