Muharram symbol of unity in Pakistan: Sahibzada Zubair

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Pakistan’s National Solidarity Council Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair has said Muslims of Pakistan from different school of thoughts would defeat all conspiracies against them through unity and holy month of Muharram and thoughts of Imam Hussein is symbol of unity in Pakista.

In interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair said that people of Pakistani are united and are fully aware that enemies of Islam and Pakistan are trying to divide them.

He said that National Solidarity Council with its members from all sects of Islam has been trying to create sectarian harmony in the country in the sacred moth of Muharram.

“We have conducted many seminars, conferences and other programs to promote unity and sectarian harmony in Pakistan especially in Muharram,” said President of Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) Noorani.

He said the day of Ashura reminds us of supreme sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala adding the best way to present tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and martyrs of Karbala, is to follow their teachings.

“Sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussein (AS) gives us a lesson of patience and tolerance,” he pointed out.

He was of the view that today Muslim world is in dire need of unity.

Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair expressing his views said that after Syria and Iraq enemies of Islam are trying to create sectarian problem in Pakistan also. “But through unity we will defeat all conspiracies against us,” he said.

The religious leader added that police with the help of other law enforcement agencies in Pakistan is trying hard to ensure foolproof security in Muharram.
