ISLAMABAD: Deputy Speaker National Murtaza Abbasi on Wednesday directed for suspension of officials of interior ministry council branch due to absence in the National Assembly during Question Hour.
Chairing the session, the Speaker said that neither minister for interior and state minister nor parliamentary secretary were present to respond to questions during the Question Hour. He also summoned the Secretary Interior to his chamber.
He said there were around 27–28 questions related to the interior ministry on agenda but no one including any officials were present in the visiting galleries.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Aftab Ahmed Sheikh said the interior minister was abroad. He had also written letters to all concerned to ensure their presence in the House during business of their ministries.
