ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training met today in Committee Room of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, “C” Block, Pak Secretariat, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Col. (Retd) Dr. Amirullah Marwat, MNA.
The Committee took serious notice of the closure of the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad from last two weeks due to protest of students of the University. The Committee recommended to the Vice Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University to reopen the University from tomorrow in order to save the ongoing semester of the students.
The Committee further asked the Vice Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University to redress the justifiable demands of the students and take serious action against the students who are involved in serious crimes at the University. The Committee also recommended that the local administration, Islamabad should cooperate with the University Administration in providing security cover against the miscreants and maintaining law and order situation in the University.
The Committee also discussed the issues of Federal Urdu University, Islamabad and asked the Vice Chancellor of the said University to attend the upcoming Senate meeting and face the alleged allegations leveled by the Senate of the said university against you.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Ms. Asyia Naz Tanoli, Ms. Rida Khan, Ms. Phyllis Azeem, Ms. Surriya Asghar, Dr. Imran Khattak, Ms. Shahida Akhtar Ali and Sardar Kamal Khan Bangulzai MNAs and Officers/Officials of the Ministry and its attached departments.
