ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Economic Affairs, Miftah Ismail has said former prime minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was the most popular leader of the country.
Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was an asset of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) and the country and people wanted him to lead them, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said the Parliament was the supreme institution of the country and one of its functions was to make laws.
Miftah said despite many attempts of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf to defame PML-N leadership, Nawaz Sharif was most popular leader among the masses.
He said people were best judge and they would give votes in the general elections 2018 on the basis of performance.
Former Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was not disqualified on corruption but on having an Iqama, he added.
