No ban on house job for foreign medical students: President PM&DC

ISLAMABAD: The President of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Prof. Dr. Shabir Lehri in his statement highlighted regarding a fake notification circulating in social media and public regarding ban on house job and internship for foreign students.

He clarified that the notification is fake and circulated to media also to fulfill vested interest of someone and it has not link with PM&DC. He added that foreign students and their parents are in panic due to this act. He told that this case has been sent to FIA Cyber Crime cell to investigate the persons who are behind this fake document.

He emphysized that in PM&DC MBBS BDS (Admission, house job and internship) regulations 2016 which is not implemented yet as it is still under litigation in different court, the internship/observer ship/clerkship of foreign student were discouraged in Pakistani to stop these students from wasting their time.

He informed the media that any graduates who have done their MBBS and BDS from Abroad and has successfully passed the PM&DC National Examination Board exam (NEB) step III are allowed to do their house job in public or private PM&DC approved hospitals.

However he told that PM&DC is trying its best to convince foreign countries offering admission to Pakistani students to offer jobs and house jobs to these foreign graduates.

He added that Parents and students are directed to seek queries and any type of information if any directly from the PM&DC office or PM&DC website to prevent any miscommunication.
