The member noted that cases were pending with FIA for the last 15 to 20 years, which required urgent attention for their settlement.
The committee also asked the Auditor General of Pakistan to devise a mechanism for settlement of the paras pending for the last 15 to 20 years.
“It is wastage of time to discuss the paras pending for decades as most of the people involved in these cases have either retired or died. So, we should devise a mechanism for settlement of these cases,” Rana Taveer Hussain observed.

“We will comply and submit a report accordingly in next meeting,” an FIA official assured the committee.
The sub-committee also directed the Audit General to settle the paras involving less than Rs 50 million in the Departmental Accounts Committee (DAC) as per direction of the Public Account Committee.
“In future, paras less than Rs 50 million should be settled in DAC as per the direction of PAC” Rana Tanveer Hussain said.
The sub-committee also directed the Auditor General for settling the audit paras of Ministry of Energy from 1999-2000 to 2008-09 of Rs 18,857,590.67 million as per advise by the DAC.
