PML-N govt ignored agriculture, livestock sectors: Chairman

ISLAMABAD:Chairman Founder at Pakistan Goat Association Sadaqat Hussain Tuesday said Agriculture was crucial for development of country’s economy but the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government intentionally ignored it.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government, under the dynamic leadership of Prime minister Imran Khan, was focusing on the agriculture sector and has formed a working group consisting of framers and legislators, he said while talking to PTV news channel.

However, he appreciated PTI government for its full committed to provide them agricultural support, besides resolving their other problems at doorstep.

He said the departments of Livestock development would bring improvement in the performance of these crucial sectors of the country economy for the uplift and development of the masses in rural areas.

He said Livestock and Goat farming sectors would also offer great export potential that would be harnessed to boost the country’s exports.

Pakistan is utilizing natural resources and paying attention to boost the livestock sector and no negligence towards these areas would break country’s progress.

He said the incumbent government had started its earnest efforts to provide maximum facilitate to the people linked with the livestock sector by providing them facilities of vaccination, modern machinery, installing digital meat processors and packaging machinery.

The chairman said if goat production improvement would prove successful, it would boost production and help raise economic.

He maintained that the government was striving hard to promote goat farming to fulfill nutritional requirements of people.

He said the livestock sector has potential to contribute in food and nutrition security, job opportunities and poverty reduction.
