ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has finalized all arrangements to inaugurate its new regional cultural center in Gilgit-Baltistan on April 8.
Director General PNCA Dr. Fouzia Saeed told reporter on Tuesday that Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training & National Heritage Shafqat Mahmood will inaugurate the new regional office of PNCA in GB.
She further said that GB Minister for Tourism, Sports, Culture, Archaeology and Museum Department Raja Nasir Ali, Secretary Culture GB and PNCA board member Naqi Akhunzada will also attend the inauguration ceremony.
“In this regard a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed between PNCA and Gilgit Baltistan government to set up PNCA regional office in GB”, she added.
She said that the new center would work for the promotion of arts and culture of GB, adding that PNCA being a national cultural institution was making efforts to explore new avenues.
She said that Gilgit Baltistan government has provided facilities and venues including auditorium free of cost to PNCA for new regional office.
The new PNCA regional office would work for the cultural activities to preserve the tangible and intangible culture and traditions of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
