Postal Minister expresses resolve to implement Postal Reforms Agenda

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Postal Services Molana Syed Ameer Zaman on Monday expressed resolve to implement Postal Reforms Agenda to open new vistas of digital transformation for Pakistan Post.

Addressing a special ceremony arranged on the eve of World Post Day here at ECO Postal Staff College, the Minister said that Pakistan Post is committed to the goals of and aspirations of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). He urged Postal Services employees to work with full dedication and devotion to further improve the postal services across the country in a competitive environment. The minister appreciated the services rendered by postal officials across the globe and especially from Pakistan Post and congratulated postal family on the occasion of World Post Day.

Molana Syed Ameer Zaman said that Postal Services cannot be ignored despite revolution in information technology. He said that Pakistan Post is now a separate ministry and efforts would be made to make it profitable and financially strong. He appreciated the postal workers working in far flung areas of the country, adding that they are serving millions of people across the country. The minister said that Pakistan Post would introduce more innovative financial and other services to further strengthen its working.

“Hand in hand with UPU, Pakistan Post traditionally celebrates the world post day every year with a new resolve to provide postal, financial, customized, logistics services to the customers,” he said. Pakistan Post celebrates the 143rd anniversary of the founding of the UPU to further strengthen the mission and goals of the UPU. Earlier, Director General Pakistan Post Rubina Tayyab was also read out message of Director General of the UPU Bishar A. Hussain on the occasion.

Federal Minister for Postal Services Syed Ameer Zaman also hoisted UPU flag in a ceremony. The Minister also planted a tree in the lawn of ECO postal staff college.

UPU-flag hoisting ceremonies were also held in all postal circles and units all over the country.
