Power generation reached 20,000MW in country: Senate informed

ISLAMABAD: The Senate was informed on Thursday that power generation has reached twenty thousand megawatts in the country due to effective measures taken by the government.

Replying to a query during question hour, Minister of State for Power Abid Sher Ali informed the House that in the coming few months power generation will reach twenty-five thousand megawatt. He said power loadshedding will be completely overcome by December this year.

To a question, Abid Sher Ali informed the House that work is underway on 870 megawatt Suki Kinari Hydropower Project in district Mansehra under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said the project will be completed at a cost of 1800 million dollars and it will start power generation by the end of 2022.

Answering a question, Minister of Law Zahid Hamid informed the House that National Accountability Bureau has given advertisements worth 54.89 million rupees in print and electronic media during the last four years.

He said 31.90 million rupees were incurred by NAB on workshops, seminars and awareness campaign during the same period.

Replying to a question, Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani informed the House that a summary has been submitted to the Prime Minister through Finance Division for 70 percent increase in rental ceiling of the government employees.
