ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday adjourning plea challenging promotions in bureaucracy from BPS-20 to BPS-21, till September 27.
A single judge bench of Justice Aamir Farooq adjourned the 27 identical petitions, moved by aggrieved officers, due to shortage of time.
However, Additional Attorney General (AAG) Afnan Karim Kundi appeared before the court in compliance with court orders.
On previous hearing counsel for the a petitioner alleged that in the last two meetings of the Central Selection Board (CSB), it promoted some juniors officers, superseding senior bureaucrats.
He alleged that selection board had superseded some specific persons, with a focus to promoting a specific group on impotent positions for upcoming ten years.
He was of the view that a meeting of CSB in this regard also going to be held on Friday and sought directions for CSB to avoid from superseding senior officers.
Justice Aamir Farooq remarked that Establishment Division submitted reply in another case that meeting of CSB would be held at end of this month and if it would be wrong, then contempt of court proceedings could be initiated, he added.
Later, while directing the office to club all the identical petitions in this regard fix the case for hearing on September 21.
