ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways will upgrade Khanewal – Wazirabad Section (324Km) and Shahdara–Sangla Hill-Sargodha-Lalamusa section (324Km) during the current financial year.
“The tender has already been floated for appointment of consultants for carrying out feasibility study for up gradation of the Section,”said a press release issued here by the Ministry of Railways.
Moreover, Khanewal, Raiwand track would also be upgraded. Another important venture is doubling and improvement of existing track from Port Qasim to Bin Qasim Station and this project comes under China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC).
It also includes remodeling of two signaling system in this track and 14 km of railway track inside the terminal of Port Qasim.Country’s ports were being also linked to the national railway system through six railway tracks.
