SC adjourns SCBA housing society case for one week

ISLAMABAD:The Supreme Court on Monday sought copies of previous court orders in a case regarding Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Housing Society and adjourned hearing for one week.

A division bench of the apex court comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmad and Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard the case filed by SCBA.

During the course of proceedings, President SCBA Rasheed A Rizvi informed the court about difficulties in acquiring land and other problems.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked that matter is being discussed in media and the court did not encourage these things.

He remarked that Justice Qazi Faez Isa was hearing the case for first time so he did not know about the history of case.

Rasheed A Rizvi said that SCBA filed contempt of court application over last order of the court.

Qazi Isa asked Rizvi to submit copies of last court orders so he can understand the case.

Land owners also appeared before the court and informed that the government was forcibly trying to vacate land for lawyers housing society. We have decided that we will not give place for lawyers society, they added.
