ISLAMABAD:Supreme Court Thursday dismissed bail plea of an accused involved in abusing four-year-old girl over withdrawal of petition.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa and comprised Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, heard the bail plea filed by accused Abbas.
During the course of proceedings, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood asked why the identity parade of the accused was not held?
The advocate general Islamabad said identity parade of the accused was held because of accused’s nomination in the first information report.
The counsel for the accused said this case required further probe.
He said details of further deoxyribonucleic acids (DNAs) included in the case were not provided.
He said the statement of a four-year-old girl could not be relied upon.
The chief justice asked the counsel that it was better to withdraw the application otherwise the trial would have an effect.
The accused, Abbas alias Chiko, was accused of abusing a four-year-old girl and case was registered against the accused in Barakhao Police Station Islamabad.
