SC dismisses KP govt petition over alleged illegal appointments in Communications department

ISLAMABAD:The Supreme Court Wednesday dismissed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s petition regarding alleged illegal appointments in the Communications and Works department.

The court also imposed Rs 0.5 million fine over misrepresentation.

A three-member bench of the court headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the case regarding alleged illegal appointments in Communications and Works department.

During the course of proceedings, the Chief Justice asked the Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whether he had seen his application and had the KP government acknowledged its error?

The court after hearing the arguments dismissed KP government petition and imposed Rs 0.5 million fine over misrepresentation.

The court directed the Chief Minister KP to take action against involved persons and submit fine amount to Edhi Foundation.
