Senate body directs CAA to build third runway at new Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat on Wednesday directed the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to make a comprehensive plan for the construction of third runway at new Islamabad airport.

The meeting of the Standing Committee was held under the chairmanship of Senator Tallah Mehmood here at Parliament House.

Senate body directed that the CAA must conduct a survey before construction of the runway.

Chairman Committee Senator Tallah Mehmood has appreciated the Civil Aviation Division for resolving the water issue at new airport.

Secretary Civil Aviation told the committee that complete consultation with consultant is part of the final decision and report of the consultant would be provided to the committee.

Senators including Kamil Ali Agha, Yousaf Badini, Shahi Syed, Kalsoom Parveen, Najma Hameed and Azam Khan Swati attended the meeting.
