Senate chairman takes notice of Iranian firing

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani Thursday took serious notice of firing of mortar shells by Iranian forces in the border village of Talap and its adjacent areas in district Chaghi of Balochistan.

The chairman took the notice on the complaint of local people and sought a report from the Foreign Secretary on the violation of borders of Pakistan and on the dangers posed to life and property of the people living in border areas.

The Senate chairman directed that the federal government should inform of the steps taken by it to resolve the issue.

In a letter written to the foreign secretary, the chairman directed that the matter should be taken up with the relevant authorities of Iran and a comprehensive report should be submitted to him in 15 days.
