Tariq Fazal criticises NAB’s reference filing procedure

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Wednesday said that National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) reference filing procedure against Sharif family was inappropriate. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has reservations over NAB’s references that was why they had filed petition in the court, he said talking to a private news channel.

The minister said former prime minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for having an Iqama, but not on corruption charges in Panama Papers case.

He said that PML-N always respected the judiciary and worked for rule of law in the country, which was evident from the fact that it implemented the court’s decision. The PML-N had struggled for restoration of judiciary and supremacy of law in the country, he added.

Replying to a question, he said the operations Zarb-e-Azb and Raddul Fasaad had yielded desired results in elimination of terrorism.

Dr Tariq Fazal said due to concrete steps taken by the present government, incidents of terrorism had reduced in the country to a great extent.

He said the government had taken all the decisions in the best interest of the country.
