Uzbekistan, Iran to sign MoUs for promotion of Religous Tourism

ISLAMABAD:Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Abdul Ghafoor Wednesday said that Uzbekistan and Iran would soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the promotion of religious tourism in the country.

He said that promotion of religious tourism was the top priority of the government and his organization was supplementing governments efforts in this regard.

Abdul Ghafoor said PTDC was carrying out survey of different areas for promoting tourism and providing facilities to tourists as well.

MD PTDC said that he had visited Katas Raj fort area a historical place where there was no facility of electricity.

He assured that keeping in view of the cultural importance of the area would soon be provided electricity in order to facilitate the tourists in the area.

The managing director also directed the fort authorities for providing uniform to the fort staff which would help the tourists in recognising the officials of the fort without any problem.
