We believe in practical measures, not hollow slogans: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that government is making sincere efforts to overcome challenges facing the country adding that we believe in practical measures not hollow slogans.

He expressed these views while talking to Leader of JUI (F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman who called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Monday.

According to JUI-F Central Information Secretary Maulana Amjad Khan the meeting lasted for 40 to 45 minutes in which they exchanged views on the prevailing political situation of the country and also discussed the issue of dialogue with Taliban to bring peace.

According to sources Maulana Fazl ur Rehman briefed the PM on decisions and important suggestions given by the tribal jirga which was held a couple of days back in Peshawar.

PM on the occasion said that government wants to settle all issues through dialogue and all measures would be taken in this regard. he also thanked Maulana Fazl ur Rehman for his cooperation in bringing the Taliban to the negotiating table.

Issue of stopping of Nato supply by PTI also came under discussion and PM said that such an issue needs to be settled with understanding and government has already conveyed its suggestion on drone attacks to the US. We have told them repeatedly that drone attacks are against our sovereignty and they need to be halted immediately..
Maulana Fazl said that drone attacks are against our national interest and the government needs to adopt a stricter stance in this regard.

PM said that got is committed to eliminating unemployment and for this we have introduced youth loan program to end sense of deprivation amongst the youth.
