All-Karachi bi-lingual declamation contest

KARACHI: The Mama Parsi Girls Secondary School annexed the winning trophy at the All Karachi Bilingual Declamation contest.

The contest was organized by the Defence Authority SKBZ College at its auditorium on Friday. Aneeq Ahmed, an intellectual and TV anchor was the chief guest.

In all, 36 students representing 21 prominent schools of Karachi participated in the competition.

They spoke on various topics in English and Urdu demonstrating their oratory skills, talent and wit.

Aneeq Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the speakers in putting up their arguments confidently and forcefully and commended the standard of declamation specially the preparation and enthusiasm of speakers.

Brig (Retd) Mirza Khawar Baig, Principal of DA SKBZ College, in his welcome address said that the college provides intellectually vibrant and academically sound environment to develop all round confident personalities of young people, so that they can face the challenges of future life successfully.

In the English Declamation Contest, Wasi Mohsin of BVS Parsi School clinched the top position, Imran Jawed of Army Public School Saddar was declared while Miss Sakina of Bahria College NORE-I remained third.

In the Urdu Declamation Contest first position went to Azan Khan of Army Public School Saddar, Mahnoor of Defence Authority Model High School Phase-IV got second position while Rayyan of SKBZ College (O Levels) was declared third.

The winning trophy of Declamation Contest was awarded to Mama Parsi Girls Secondary School as the highest scorer Army Public School Saddar got the trophy last year.

In the end the chief guest distributed certificates and shields among the participants of the declamation contest.
