–Says religion a matter between individual and Almighty Allah
KARACHI: Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has said that there are no safe havens in the country as our armed forces have successfully eliminated their sanctuaries.
Addressing at Karachi University on Thursday, he said fundamentalism even exist in west and India as it has various forms.
Major General Asif Ghafoor said has said that no one has to prove that they are Muslims. The ISPR chief said that no one has to prove that they are Muslim as it is the issue between and individual and Almighty Allah.
“There is no need to raise slogans that we are Muslims. Prove it with actions,” he said.
DG ISPR stated there are many forms of fundamentalism and he called Western countries and India as “fundemantalist states”. He added, “When I force others to follow my ideologies then I will be called terrorists and extremist countries”.
He went on to say that the world would consider us an Islamic country if we follow the principles of the religion.
The ISPR chief also stated that Pakistan is the most beautiful country created by Almighty Allah and is important on geography basis.
Major General Asif Ghafoor stated that Afghanis came to Pakistan when United States invaded Afghanistan following 9/11. He said, “Operation Zarb-e-Azb was completed successfully and terrorists were killed step-by-step”.
“There are no safe havens of terrorists in Pakistan but there are terrorists in the country,” he said. He stated that he security forces are targeted for making a country weak.
The ISPR chief, in a jovial mood, said it felt as if he had arrived at a woman’s university. “I asked about the increase in the ratio of female students in Karachi University from its Vice Chancellor,” he said.
