KARACHI: Around 11 thousand students have been benefitted from Sindh Endowment Fund Scholarship Program in last 14 years.
The Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said this while presiding over a meeting regarding endowment fund scholarship held at his office, according to a statement issued here on Wednesday.
Secretary Collages Pervaiz Ahmed, Farah Iqbal from IBA, Mohammad Jahangir Siddiqui, representative of finance and other relevant departments participated in the meeting.
He said this program was started in 2003 aimed to provide the opportunities of higher education to deserving students and so far Rs. 1750 million have been given to this program.
The meeting decided that 10 percent of the total fund would be allocated for those students who have got admission in reputed foreign university.
The meeting was informed that the endowment fund has been given to 32 government and private universities in the medical, business administration, information technology and engineering departments for allocated 1106 seats.
