KARACHI: A team of GIZ (a German Investigation Development Agency) led by Dr. Astrid Bosch, on Wednesday called on Chief Secretary Sindh Rizwan Memon at his office here.
The Secretary Home Qazi Shahid Pervez, Secretary Law Iftikhar Shalwani and DIG Sindh Police Munir Ahmed Shaikh were also present, said a statement.
It may be mentioned that GIZ is a collaborating Institution with Sindh Government to develop the mechanism of rule of law and forensic Intervention in Sindh, followed by the support for Capacity Development in the Criminal Investigation Services (CIS-II) in Pakistan.
The agreed work of CIS for Rule of Law Road map and on organizational capacity building of Sindh has been initiated on September 15, this year.
The GIZ team made a presentation, during the meeting which reflects the identification of priorities, developing the targets,
indicators and milestones, set – up a mechanism for data collection, establishing a process to forward and ensure focusing on delivery develop system.
The meeting decided to constitute a steering committee, the Chief Secretary suggested the representative from Home, Law, Prosecution & Police Departments for the Steering Committee, while focal persons are also to be nominated within a couple of days.
Rizwan Memon expressed the hope that the program linked with the Criminal Justice System, with the specific reference to National Action Plan, shall prove fruitful, for the capacity building.
